I have been incredibly bad about updating my blog!! I don't know why I can't keep it up! I guess that should have been my New Year's Resolution!

Last night I did hair and makeup for KodyJo who is gorgeous! We have worked together before...but I haven't had the chance to do her makeup. Finally I had her in my chair! She is a doll! Super sweet all the way around and so cute. Aaron http://www.blueruestudio.com/ did the awesome shooting. We always work so well together. Here are just a few of the pictures.

Working with National Makeup Artist

This week I freelanced with Lancome Cosmetics and the best day overall was the day that Lancome's National Makeup Artist, Robert Cook sat down with us and "taught" us a million things! First of all, men and cosmetics go wonderfully together when it is their passion. He was a fabulous teacher and he does amazing faces. He taught me a few new tricks and I was grateful to be a part of such a fantastic learning experience! We can never stop learning.

The Style Network

The Style Network and Maybelline/L'Oreal Mobile Network Tour rolled through town recently at Town Center Plaza in Leawood and Time Warner Cable Center in Raytown/Kansas City. I was asked to be a part of this and it was a fun time! It was also somewhat rewarding as several women who signed up had NEVER worn makeup in their life! I seriously cannot imagine this. The biggest reasons were that they didn't have time or they were scared because nobody had ever taught them how to put on makeup. I LOVE to teach people how to put on makeup correctly. I have had girls contact me, husbands contact me to give lessons and a makeover to their wife (I do not suggest this unless the wife asks you at some point for it), destination wedding girls contact me to teach them the correct way and what to buy before their wedding. I always let them know that they can take me with them ;) Back on track here...it truly was a rewarding experience to be a part of this.

My first work published!

So my excitement came a week ago when I went to Barnes and Noble to purchase the September/October issue of Supermodels Unlimited. It was the very last issue on the shelf. I flip through the pages and there she is, page 37, Jessie Colonna Miss Kansas Teen USA 2008. Isn't she a doll? We had a great time that day! She and her mom are both super sweet and a joy to be around. Jessie has great goals for her life and I believe that she will achieve them. The bottom picture of her is the one that was published.

I believed that I would steadily work on this blog but I didn't. I now am going to make myself work on this and keep it going. At least once a week I should be able to update my blog. This is why I never kept a diary.

My summer months have been super busy with weddings, photo shoots, baseball and the normal everyday things.

2 weeks ago we held The Muse Project. It went wonderfully and are already seeing amazing images from it. You can find more information about The Muse Project on our website:

My First Blog!!

I have to admit that I was feeling intimidated with starting a blog. I never have kept a diary..I mean that is kind of what it is. This blog, though, will be more of a business "diary" I suppose since the blog is about me and my business.

I already feel as if I am rambling!

Of course now that I have started this, I will have to stick with it and keep it updated often. Guess I will carry my camera around more ;)

Well...bare with me while I try to figure all of this out! If I can be successful on my own with myspace then surely I can handle this!
